Commercials must be delivered in the right mpeg2 file format. Finnish post production houses digitize tapes and deliver via Spotgate for a fee.
Presentation instructions should always be supplied electronically or in writing and contain the number of the advertisement or the SpotgateID. Presentation instructions must be delivered to Subtv Oy, Traffic, allowing one working day between delivery day and presentation day. Please check www.spotti.fi for any irregular delivery schedules because of holidays etc. Subtv Oy accepts no liability for any error in transmission if presentation instructions are not delivered on time.
If a broadcast error for which MTV Oy is responsible occurs, separate agreement will be reached on the method and amount of compensation. Compensation will not exceed corresponding advertising time or the non-billing of charges for the spot that has been broadcast improperly. Remarks concerning a broadcast spot must be made in writing within 8 days of the date on which the spot is broadcast.
The advertiser is responsible for obtaining ownership and/or user rights to spot materials along with the necessary copyright, patent and other such rights. Subtv Oy retains the right to change the times when a spot is shown or to interrupt a campaign if special reasons require, without any obligation to provide compensation.
After a spot has been broadcast for the first time, Subtv Oy is entitled to use a spot in presentation, training and research compilations unless the advertiser forbids this in writing. Subtv Oy does not have the right to use a spot for commercial purposes in other media.
The advertiser shall be responsible for the content of the advertising material. Advertisements must comply with, laws, statutes, the International Code of Advertising, and regulations set by the Consumer Ombudsman and other officials. Commercials for medicinal products must be submitted to the Inspection Board for the Marketing of Medicinal Products for review. Subtv Oy is not liable for any costs incurred as a result of the advertisement not complying with official regulations. Subtv Oy reserves the right to postpone advertising or to cancel bookings made for advertising time, should reasons relating to the content so require, without any liability to pay compensation.
Products and services that may not be advertised:
- tobacco products
- pharmaceuticals or medical treatments available only with prescription
- alcohol (over 22 %)
- alcohol (under 22 %), allowed after 21:00
Products and services that have restrictions for advertising
- commercials harmful to children (constraints concerning the time of the day 21:00/23:00)
- adult entertainment
- gambling

Information to be included in to the e-mail

Flash materials (SWF): the function of a link button (clickTAG) in a Flash application must be standard:

Backup image: Create a backup image of your ad in GIF/JPG/PNG format (max. size 40 kB). Flash ads can only be shown on browsers that have a sufficiently recent Adobe Macromedia Flash Player application installed (at least version 8). A backup image of the ad will be displayed on any other configuration.
Information on required player version: please include information on the Flash Player version required to view the banner ad. The published SWF file must be compatible with at least Flash Player 8, so make sure to save the Flash banner in a format that is compatible with version 8 or let us know if you are unable to do this.
The URL target address must be supplied separately: no URLs may be embedded inside Flash files! The advertising control system will make sure that the correct target URL is opened on the basis of clickTAG. The advertised link must open into a separate browser window (target="_blank").
• We recommend that the length of Flash animations does not exceed 30 seconds.
• NB! clickTAG must be in expression format (without quotation marks).
• Spell capital and lower case letters as in the provided example when using clickTAG.
• If a banner contains several clickTAGs, they will be named: clickTAG1, clickTAG2, etc. An individual URL target address must be supplied for each clickTAG.
• A separate html file, i.e. a so-called sniffer code, is not required.
• The frame rate in Flash materials should preferably be 12 (and at most 18) images per second (fps). Too high a frame rate would slow down especially lower performance PCs when several ads are shown on one page.
• Unnecessary animations, especially partially transparent elements and animations based on mathematic formulae, should be avoided in Flash ads. Design graphic elements as simply as possible, group elements whenever possible and use symbols for identical elements.
• When submitting your materials, please inform us separately if the Flash code will load additional material from elsewhere during execution. The combined size of the original Flash and the additional material may not exceed the normal kilobyte limit (40 kB). The size of the additional material may exceptionally be at most 500 kilobytes if it begins to load only after the user activates the material through his or her own actions (clicking / moving cursor over object). The same applies to streaming files and solutions realised utilising the so-called flash-loader principle.
• It is advisable to realise the click button in Flash as a single transparent layer that covers the entire ad – this way, the target page will open if any part of the ad is clicked. It also eliminates the need to add a separate button into each frame.
• The ActionScript code in Flash may not be obfuscated or hidden. Use ActionScript version 2 as the default setting. No standards for ActionScript 3 have yet been established.
• File format: WMV or MOV
• Video size: 512 x 288 pixels (16:9 wide-screen aspect ratio)
• 25 images per second
• Bit rate: minimum 2 Mbit/s
• If the original material is in 4:3 aspect ratio, it must be converted to 16:9 wide-screen aspect ratio before transferring by adding black edges or by editing the original images. MTV’s system always processes materials in the wide-screen aspect ratio.
• Ads less that 15 megabytes in size can be delivered via e-mail or Spotti.

• Sub.fi can also receive material produced for the TV screen
• Normal terms and conditions apply to banner ads.
The ads will be put in place by 10:00 am on the first day of the purchased media time period. MTV Oy will not be responsible for delays in the commencement of campaigns that are caused by late delivery of materials. A campaign report will be delivered to the client by Wednesday on the week following the close of the campaign
If so required the material can be changed once per advertising place per week. The substitute material must be delivered prior to publication of the material as per the material timetable.
If the material is not delivered in accordance with the technical instructions, or some information connected with the material is missing, we will return the material in the first instance to the supplier. MTV cannot be held liable for any delay in handling the material or in the start of the campaign arising from defective material. We charge EUR 72 /hour + VAT for extra work, separately agreed, incurred as a result of the material not being technically workable. The minimum time invoiced is one hour.

The colours available are white, blue, red, yellow, green, cyan, magenta and black. Letters: 1 and 2 rows upper case and lower case (see Teletext page 582).
Text 23 rows of 40 characters, graphics 69 x 78 points. There can be a maximum of 99 sub-pages for one main page.
Ready material must be delivered 4 working days before the day the advert appears. If so required we can plan the pages in conjunction with the customer’s advertising agency. In this case the material should be delivered no later than 7 working days before the start of the campaign.

• HTML direct e-mails will be sent using the eMTV service and it is very important that the letter is drafted to the enclosed specifications
• The finished HTML letter as well as its text version will be stored on, e.g. the client’s server and MTV Oy will then be informed of its location (mtv3i-trafiikki@mtv3.fi)

The mobile site recognises the user’s terminal device and will open different versions to different users. Advertisers must therefore deliver four different-sized banners for each campaign.
